To maximize your chances of successfully, consistently reaching your goals involves a number of things. The essential elements are listed under “The Master Checklist” in the left hand column, yet there’s one additional, critical item that has to be at the top of the list of any aspiring achiever:

Taking regular, consistent action
toward your goal, each and every day.

Yeah you say, but isn’t that obvious? Maybe, but there aren’t many people who have a clear objective in mind that can also demonstrate the discipline and persistence to take action on a daily basis, without interruption, until the task is completed.

“Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence – is the key to unlocking our potential” – Sir Winston Churchill

There are plenty of good ideas around, but a shortage of people with the discipline, focus and determination to follow through on them.

This is unfortunate because no matter how great the plan and how talented the pursuer, reaching a goal still requires a devotion to consistency. Until we get busy and start taking action there will be no achievement, but regular, persistent action pays huge dividends.

“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure.” – Colin Powell

One of my favorite observations on the value of taking action every day came from a blog I read by an aspiring new comic who got some good advice from Jerry Seinfeld. Click here to read it, it’s well worth a few minutes of your time to check it out.

“Consistent effort wins medals. In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.” – Tony Robbins

So just keep a focus on taking action every single day toward your goal.

Take action when you are just getting started

Take action when you’re frustrated

Take action when you get disappointed and disillusioned

Keep taking action when things start going great.

JUST KEEP TAKING ACTION
